Insanely Delicious and Healthy Breakfast Ideas
Health gurus, doctors and pretty much anyone you meet on the street will tell you at nauseum that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they’re right. A healthy, hearty breakfast keeps the brain juices flowing and helps curb those mid-morning sugar cravings.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, which is precisely why we have included several delicious breakfast ideas that can be prepared in advance and eaten on the go. After all, we’re busy people.
Healthy eating doesn’t mean starving yourself and it certainly doesn’t mean eating bland and boring meals with all the flavour and excitement of a piece of cardboard. All these meals are guaranteed to deliver on flavour. Full of natural goodness, free of refined carbs or sugar, each of these meals will leave you feeling full and satisfied and most importantly, delight the tastebuds.
Berry delicious Smoothie
This antioxidant and superfood rich smoothie packs a flavoursome punch whilst being full of essential goodness. Research suggests that antioxidants work wonders for the skin and a diet high in antioxidants can have powerful anti-aging effects. Berries contain antioxidants called polyphenols which help support optimum health and vitality. This smoothie is also high in vitamin C and fibre and did I mention it tastes bloody delicious.
½ cup frozen raspberries
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ medium sized banana or 1 small banana
Handful of spinach levels
1 cup of your choice of milk or water.
Place all the ingredients in a high spender blender and let her rip. Pretty straight forward.
Peanut Butter + Jelly Smoothie
I’m a big fan of peanut butter and banana on toast for brekkie but if you’re looking for an on the go version this divine Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie by The Healthy Chef should do the trick.

Peanut butter bliss balls
You might be able to tell I’m a bit peanut obsessed. These bliss balls are the perfect make ahead breakfast for all the busy guys and gals that are short of time of a morning. Make a batch on the weekend and grab a few on your way out the door. These would also be delicious as a snack with a cuppa.
120g or approx 12 pitted medjool dates
1 cup of oats
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 Tbs chia seeds
A little water to mix if needed
Place all the ingredients in a food processor and let her rip. Add a little bit of water if the mix is not coming together. Roll the mix into approximately 12 balls and refrigerate.
Winter Warming Oats Porridge
This is the cheats version to the classic bowel of porridge we all know and love. This version is super quick and uses gasp…the microwave. Because not everyone’s got time to be working the stove of a morning.
½ cup of oats
½ cup of boiling water ( enough to cover the oats)
splash of milk
sprinkle of cinnamon
honey to taste
handful of raisins or sultanas.
Pour your oats into a bowl and cover only just with boiling water. Cover the bowel with a plate and place in the microwave for a minute. Once removed from the microwave add a splash of milk, sprinkle on some cinnamon and add a dash of honey and your choice of fruit.
