Health gurus, doctors and pretty much anyone you meet on the street will tell you at nauseum that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they’re right. A healthy, hearty breakfast keeps the brain juices flowing and helps curb those mid-morning sugar cravings.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, which is precisely why we have included several delicious breakfast ideas that can be prepared in advance and eaten on the go. After all, we’re busy people.

All these meals are guaranteed to deliver on flavour. Full of natural goodness, free of refined carbs or sugar, each of these meals will leave you feeling full and satisfied and most importantly, delight the tastebuds.

Winter Warming Oats Porridge

This is the cheats version to the classic bowel of porridge we all know and love. This version is super quick and uses gasp…the microwave. Because not everyone’s got time to be working the stove of a morning.

½ cup of oats

½ cup of boiling water ( enough to cover the oats)

splash of milk

1 banana

sprinkle of cinnamon

honey to taste

handful of raisins or sultanas.

Pour your oats into a bowl and cover only just with boiling water. Cover the bowel with a plate and place in the microwave for a minute. Once removed from the microwave add a splash of milk, sprinkle on some cinnamon and add a dash of honey and your choice of fruit.
